ACCENT
Students who exhibit behaviors which are outside the parameters of AEF classrooms are assigned to ACCENT. The ACCENT program focuses on behavior modification, classroom skills, and appropriate peer interactions. Students placed in ACCENT are not given regular academic work. Instead they are given a modified curriculum designed to teach them self regulatory, focus, and task management skills. The students also participate in a therapeutic RAP program each day. During RAP they discuss the issues they are having, why they are in ACCENT, and what specific skills they need to work on. The ACCENT program provides short to long term interventions.
